La Caille

Our team was approached by the La Caille Group to provide them with conceptual renderings of their restaurant and event space. Currently under renovation and partially finished, the client requested a stylish, contemporary interior that would help to attract interest and secure a new tenant for the space. While creating an aesthetically pleasing space was important, our team approached this project strategically, conceptualizing a space that responded to the local market and needs of the end user. Located on the West end of Calgary’s downtown, with views of the Bow River and Peace Bridge, we envisioned a space that was desirable for a Sunday brunch, a business lunch, or an elegant night out. Comprising of a restaurant and bar, and private dining room and a banquet room, the spaces had to be cohesive for large functions but also be able to operate independently for the day to day. The bar is centrally located to service each room, and features wide areas of circulation where a variety of furniture arrangements could be placed depending on event needs. The private dining space could function as an offsite corporate retreat space or as a space to hold small parties. The banquet hall was designed in contrast to traditional hotel banquet spaces and takes on a more modern and natural materiality. An acoustic wood ceiling treatment and soft carpet underfoot ensures that the space feels intimate despite its size.
