For Donna Mac, Sarah Ward Interiors set out to create a space defined by modest simplicity, drawing inspiration from Brutalist architecture’s focus on raw, honest materials. Emphasizing geometric forms and texture, the design pairs hickory, leather, cork, and brick to create warmth without excess. Every material remains true to its natural form, reflecting a philosophy of humility and resourcefulness shared by the owners. The interior’s restrained architecture contrasts with the soft, fluid branding by Marc Rimmer, allowing the restaurant’s evolving culinary creativity to shine. Local ceramicist Becky McMaster crafted custom dishware, grounding the space in its vibrant community roots.

In my work with Sarah Ward, she has always acted with unrivalled professionalism and grace. Over the years, I have come to trust her ability and her choices for my businesses. I can confidently say that there is no other designer that I would rather entrust with my vision than Sarah.
